Nimez Laguna Reserve is located 1 km from downtown Calafate, within walking distance of Lago Argentino. Easily accessible, with only a few minutes walk you can reach the lagoon and enjoy a beautiful landscape.

Nimez Laguna Reserve is an important refuge for birds, some of which are migratory arriving in spring. The reserve has information signs and a pedestrian circuit. In this tour you can also visit Lago Argentino and the attractive Bahia Redonda (Round Bay).

The outstanding birds in this area are the flamingos with pink eye-catching, black-necked swans, geese and ibis, lapwings, ducks, coots, grebes, hawks and falcons.

We recommend visiting the lagoon in the early morning or at sunset because it is the busiest time of the days for birds.
