Upsala Glacier Navigation / Tour by boat

Departure (transfers):
The tour starts from Calafate early in the morning and takes you for 47-kilometer (half hour) on Route 15, bordering the Lago Argentino to arrive to Puerto Bandera.

Upsala Glacier
At Puerto Bandera you will embark modern sailing catamarans and start sailing through the Boca del Diablo to access the North Arm of Lago Argentino to get to the Upsala and Spegazzini arms, where the landscape changes dramatically: forest, the taller mountains and glaciers. After navigating the Upsala Arm you will reach the Upsala Glacier. This is the largest glacier in the National Park Los Glaciares (about 880 km2). From here you will be able to see extremely large icebergs that sometimes make it difficult to get near the wall of this immense glacier. In addition to the Upsala, on the same channel you will envisage the Glacier Bertrand.

The walk
From the Upsala Glacier the boat takes you to Onelli Bay, where you can walk along a path of 800 meters between woods and mountains and have a spectacular view of glaciers Agassiz and Onelli. The walk also allows views of smaller glaciers, such as Bolados and North Heim.

Spegazzini Glacier
On the bank of the Spegazzini canal stands an astonishingly dense vegetation. This is one of the wettest areas of the National Park, where you will see the Heim South and Seco glaciers in the middle of the woods. You will finally reach the Spegazzini Glacier, located 130 meters above sea level, the highest in the Los Glaciares National Park.

Return
After visiting the Spegazzini Glacier the tour returns to Puerto Bandera and passengers greet one of the most beautiful tours offered in Argentina.
